Meet Bret and Katherine Wilson, a family who found their ideal move-in-ready home in Hook Farms, Lee’s Summit. We sat down with them in their home so they could share their experience moving from a cramped space to a home that perfectly fits their growing family of four.
Bret and Katherine bought their first home 7 years ago as newlyweds and settled into married life. After the birth of their two boys, Grady (5 years old) and Evan (2 years old) they decided they had outgrown their first home. They needed more bedrooms and a bigger yard… they basically just needed more overall space. When the couple initially started looking at homes they were only considering resale options. They quickly realized the benefits of new construction and wanted to take advantages. Elevate homes stood out for its quality, design, and added upgrades. Katherine said while a lot of houses checked their boxes, none of them offered the wow-factor and feeling of home that this one did. Bret specifically mentioned loving the open living area connected to the kitchen so the boys could play while they figured out dinner. He said in their last home one was stuck doing dishes while the other went downstairs to supervise the boys. They were especially thrilled with the well-thought-out floor plan with large closets, primary suite, outdoor patio and second-level laundry that added functionality to their daily lives.
Since this was their first experience in buying a new home, Bret said they were kind of clueless when it came to the process. He appreciated the support they received during the home-buying process and the support from the builders. Bret is quoted saying, “We would definitely recommend Elevate! The builders were great, guiding us step by step. They never made us feel bad about not knowing the process and were there to help.” They went on to praise Elevate for their commitment to quality from construction to finishing touches ensuring every detail met the family’s needs.
When asking how moving into their new homes has changed their lives they both had a different answer. Katherine reflected and said that this home gave her peace. She loves that they’re not on top of each other and have the space to watch the boys grow. Bret said that efficient would be the best way to describe their new life. The open floor plan just works so much better for their family and they are able to take care of day to day tasks while still being mindful of their boys.
